Dudley "Maurice" Rabren, age 83, passed away on January 30th surrounded by his 2 children at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Linda Little Rabren, his parents, Oscar Alonzo and Helen Rabren and his brother, Gerald Rabren.
He is survived by his children Melinda (Robert) Carrasco and Greg (Beverly) Rabren, grandchildren Emory (Blair) Rabren, Ivory Rabren, Dr. Taran Carrasco and RJ (LeAnn) Carrasco. He is also survived by sister Janet Short of Opp and he leaves behind two great grandchildren, Rowdy Rabren and Brighton Carrasco.
Maurice was born and raised in Andalusia. He was a business owner of Equipment Installers and a founder and partner of B & L Cable Communication, Inc. which built cable TV systems in Alabama, Utah and Florida. He sold his business and retired in 2000. He enjoyed spending his time with family, traveling, growing citrus trees, farming, and raising cattle. Over the last 2 years, he especially enjoyed his adventures with his best lady friend and companion, Faye Bryant, and he was so thankful for her love, friendship and caregiving in his final days.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, February 3rd at 11:00 am at Cedar Grove Church Of Christ with Brother Josh Holloway officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church.
Pallbearers will be Emory Rabren, Davis Rabren, Gray Rabren, Brody Bryan, Jake Bryan, and Rudley Bryan.
Honorary pallbearers are grandson RJ Carrasco, and nephews Chris Rabren, Danny Short, Michael Short, and David Short.
The family wishes to express gratitude to West Florida ER, ICU, and Hospice unit for the kindness and dignity that was shown to him and to the family in his final days.
