Maurilio Carrillo-Lujan

          “Wilo” Maurilio “Pops” Carrillo-Lujan , 89, passed away peacefully on the evening of June 9, 2025 in the presence of some of the many, who loved him dearly. He is survived by his four sisters, brother, two daughters, two sons, several godchildren, and six grandchildren. 

          Born March 18, 1936 in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico to the late Jose Maria Carrillo and Nicolasa Lujan, he spent his younger years traveling between the U.S. and Mexico as a laborer. In those times he laid his hat in many different cities meeting many different people. Come the late 60’s, he would marry Maria Concepcion Colon, with whom he would share five children; their first dolefully not reaching a year old. Roughly 10 years later, he would move his family to the U.S., where they would stay in the Los Angeles area of California, frequenting parks and picnicking, cherishing those moments of serenity. Eventually, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he would retire much too late, at the ripe age of 84. In 2017 his wife of upwards of 50 years had her time on Earth come to an end much too soon. 

         On June 18, 2025 a memorial service will be held to commemorate his long life of spreading love. Shortly after he will be buried with his late wife where the two will be reunited eternally
