Maurine Springborn Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Maurine Pritchard Springborn, age 80, of Marine City, went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2025. She was born on September 1, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan as the daughter of the late James Martin and Ida Maurine (Pritchard) Casler.
Maurine leaves behind a legacy of love. As a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she had a way of making each one feel like they were her favorite.
Maurine and Tom married in 1965 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marine City. Both being devoted Catholics, the event marked the forging of a bond that would last her lifetime. They moved to East China soon thereafter after where they built their house from the ground up, creating a home where they would raise two children. Their house was often filled with family and friends for parties and socializing.
She will especially be remembered as an amazing grandma: the type of grandma who radiates warm love, homemade chocolate chip cookies, fluffy blueberry muffins, and canned apple sauce. This while being a bank teller, later working for Marine City Chamber of Commerce, and as a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Cross Church.
As a summer gal, she spent her winters snow birding and chasing the sun in Fort Myers, Florida. There, you could often find her with a book next to the pool. Summers she was sporting 70s-style sunglasses by the St. Clair River.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Thomas; children, Amy and David; grandchildren, Taylor, Jake, Hannah, Luke, Max, Ronnie, and Skyler; and great-grandson, Nolan. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Casler.
A gathering and viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial-Bower Rose Funeral Home, 222 N. Main Street, Marine City, MI 48039. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 610 S Water St, Marine City, MI 48039. Father Tom Kuehnemund will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m.
