Mrs. Mavis Inez Bacon, 81, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Bacon was born in Donalsonville, GA on August 7, 1943 to the late Anderson Earl Jerkins and Audrey May Lynn Jerkins. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Pembroke Christian Church, was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Bacon was employed for 17 years before her retirement with Winn Army Hospital as a pharmaceutical technician.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Hurbert Lavone “Pete” Jerkins.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Donald James Bacon; two sons, David Bacon (Lisa) of Ellabell and Bill Bacon (Patricia) of Pembroke; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Sullivan officiating.
Burial will be held at Northside Cemetery.
