I was devastated to learn of the passing of my dear friend Max Baer. We met as third year law-students from our respective schools, opponents in a mock trial contest sponsored by the US District Court. We fought the hard fight, as litigators do, and became friends, also as litigators do. We were even law partners after we'd both completed stints in public service. Max and I then embarked on different paths for further adventures and service. We remained friends for more than 47 years, and I'm grateful to have known and been inspired by Max and Beth. My condolences to the entire Baer family. Max Baer's memory is already a blessing and may that be so forever.
