It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Max Smith Horne, Jr., a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, who left this world on December 20, 2025, at the age of 35. In honor of Max's life, a funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation from 10:00 AM until the service begins. Max will be laid to rest at Snow Methodist Church in
Unadilla, GA, immediately following the ceremony.
Born on May 17, 1990, in
Macon, Georgia, Max lived a life full of laughter, loyalty, and incredible resilience. He was a remarkable individual whose spirit will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Max's life was grounded in strong values and a deep commitment to his family. Max was known for his humor and ability to bring joy to even the most serious moments, making those around him feel special and uplifted.
A proud United States Army Veteran, Max served his country bravely in Iraq, where he demonstrated a commitment to duty and an indomitable spirit. Upon returning home, he pursued his passion as a diesel mechanic, running his own business with expertise and pride. He was well-educated, holding a Bachelor's degree, which was a testament to his intelligence and ambition.
Max's interests extended beyond his career; he was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying the great outdoors wherever he could. He had a unique talent for fixing anything that crossed his path, turning what many might see as junk into treasured possessions. His warmth and generosity knew no bounds; he was the type of person who would help anyone in need without hesitation.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Amber Nicole Horne, and his cherished children, Kinsley and Liam Horne. His presence as a supportive husband and nurturing father was marked by kindness and unwavering dedication. Max is also survived by his loving mother, Konnie Lanier; father, Max Smith Horne, Sr.; sisters: Nataleigh Aman (Ryan) and sister Mallory Horne. The legacy of his kindness, loyalty, and adventurous spirit will forever remain in their hearts and in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
As we celebrate Max's life, let us remember him as a man of integrity, a humorous soul, and a loving family man whose legacy will inspire future generations to live fully and generously. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will shine brightly through the lives he touched.
