Max Leroy Lueras, 62, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. Please take a moment to share a kind thought or memory with Max's family at www.andersonbethany.com.
Services will be held at Anderson Bethany on May 19, 2025. The Viewing will be from 12 p.m.- 6 p.m., followed by the rosary from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. Mass will be held at St. John Catholic Church at 10 am on May 20, 2025-reception to follow at the Serenity Club venue.
On May 11, 1962, Max was born to Librado and Lucille Lueras in Roswell, NM. He attended Goddard High School. He received a certification from ENMU-R in Auto, body, and paint, and welding. He married Aide Lueras in Roswell, NM, on February 26, 2000. Prior to retirement, Max worked as a diesel mechanic at the city of Roswell landfill. He was a Chevy enthusiast and enjoyed working on his '65 Chevelle and '81 C10 Chevy Truck. He was a kind-hearted and very social person with many friends. With a big sense of humor. Max enjoyed working on vehicles, enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching westerns, and attending his grandchildren's school events. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. Max will be missed by his family and friends.
Those who eternally treasure and cherish memories of Max are his wife Aide Lueras, Children: Michelle (Danton) Washington, Leanna (Jesus) Borunda, Samantha (Lorenzo) Mendiola, Aimee Lueras, (Josh Rios), Lucas Lueras, and Dog Killer. Grandchildren: Jenelle Washington, Nevaeh Mendiola, Natalie Mendiola, Braylon Washington, Jordan Borunda, Jaiden Borunda, Marley Mendiola, Malia Mendiola, Isaiah Mendiola, Kiva Rios, Elena Mendiola, Ellie Rios. Siblings: Benny (Tina) Lueras, Rosa Tegeda, Gary Lueras, and Robert Lueras Patricia (Junior) Mendoza, and In-laws: Delia (Fred) Palomino. Sibling in-laws: Freddy (Joann) Palomino, Arlene (Paul) Pantoja, Angie (Rene)Romero, Alex (Becky) Palomino, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends.
Max is preceded in death by his parents, Librado (Lucille) Lueras, Grandparents, Niece Lori Tegeda, Brother-in-law Nick Tegeda, and dog Kylie.
The family of Max Lueras wishes to extend sincere thanks to Nurse Taylor Cooper and Emily Waldeck from UMC for caring for Max as he continued his journey at UMC.
Max's tribute was written in his honor by his family.
