Rita Lueras, age 89, born in Pintada, New Mexico, passed January 22, 2026. Rita is survived by her children, Anna Lopez and husband Joe, Glenda Grossetete and husband Lawrence, Joe Lueras and wife Angela, Juanita Tafoya and husband George; Eleven grandchildren; Eightteen great-grandchildren; and Three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Billy Padilla, Eddie Padilla, Joe Padilla, Bennie Griego, Mabel Cordova, and Carolyn Padilla; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Julian Lueras; grandchild, Luke Grossetete; great-grandchildren, Emma Grossetete and Stephen Padilla. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 7:45 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 8:15 a.m. and a Mass at 9:00 a.m. all to take place at St Anne Church located 1400 Arenal Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. A Burial will follow the Mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Pallbearers will be Joe Lopez, Joseph Lueras, Freddie Grossetete, Eric Tafoya, Anthony Armijo, William Jackson, and Wade Jackson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marcus Chavez, Jayce Tafoya, Ethan Lam, and Eli Lam.
