Max Smith was the assistant principal at Sequoyah Middle School while I was a teacher there. (He sat in on my interview with principal Jim Tolbert & Steve Smith. Max was an exceptional assistant principal-one of the very best I have ever worked with in my entire teaching career. Max was a man of integrity, strength and compassion.
