Maxine Adler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes - Delta Chapel on Dec. 10, 2023.
Maxine Adler, a cherished matriarch and beacon of warmth in the Lansing community, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2023 and entered the arms of our Savior, at the age of 88. Born on November 8, 1935, in Lehr, North Dakota, Maxine's life was a testament to the love and dedication she had for her family, friends, and the numerous lives she touched.
Maxine's journey began in Lehr, North Dakota. The family moved to Lansing, MI, where she was a proud graduate of J.W. Sexton High School. Her early education laid the groundwork for a life characterized by hard work, commitment, and the joy of connecting with people. This joy found a perfect outlet in her career at the Michigan State University Breslin Center's ticketing office, where her radiant smile and helpful demeanor became a fond memory for countless event-goers.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Maxine was a woman of deep faith and an active member of South Church. Her spiritual life was a cornerstone that brought her comfort, strength, and a community with which she shared her most cherished values.
Maxine's love for life was reflected in her many interests. She was an avid gardener, her hands nurturing the earth to bring forth vibrant blooms and verdant plants. Her love for cooking and baking was an extension of her nurturing spirit, creating delicious meals and treats that brought her family and friends together around the table. A voracious reader, she found solace and adventure within the pages of books, which were her companions in quiet moments of reflection.
The cottage on Indian Lake was a haven for Maxine, a place where summer breezes carried the laughter of her loved ones. Winters were warmly spent in Venice, Florida, where she forged lasting friendships and created a tapestry of cherished memories. Regardless of the season, Maxine's favorite time was any moment spent with her family. Their happiness was her greatest joy, their achievements her proudest moments.
A loyal fan of Michigan State University sports, Maxine's enthusiasm for her team was infectious. Her spirited support was emblematic of her passionate approach to all aspects of life, cheering on her team through victories and defeats with equal fervor.
Maxine's legacy is lovingly carried on by her devoted children, Linda (Chuck) Reid, Stan (Julie) Adler, and Doug (Rene) Adler. Her six grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, and Jack Reid, along with Sam, Danielle, and Quinn Adler, will forever cherish the wisdom, laughter, and tender moments shared with their beloved grandmother. Maxine now joins her husband, John Adler, who preceded her in death in 2013, her brother Roger (Shirley) Hildenbrand, brother in law and sister in law Henry and Janice Adlerin in eternal rest.
Maxine's life was a beautiful mosaic of love, service, and joy. Her unwavering commitment to her family, her unshakeable faith, and her passion for life's simple pleasures have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. As we bid farewell to Maxine Adler, we celebrate a life lived with grace, a heart given freely to others, and a spirit that will continue to inspire for generations to come. Her memory will be a guiding light, a reminder of the beauty and love that one person can bring into the world. Maxine, your presence will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever remain with us.

I can remember the laughter and energy of our visits to your mom and dad´s house when we were all little...race cars, games, good food, laughter and wise, practical advice. I am thankful for those memories and to know we will see both your mom and dad someday again! My prayers and love are with you all through these tough days. She was a blessing and I am sure she continues to love you and cheer you on from heaven above!

When John and Max came to Grand Ledge Baptist, we were always asked if we were sisters, and ofcourse we said yes. She has been my Michigan sister for a very long time, I loved her like a real sister and will miss her so.
