Obituary of Maxine Anna Christensen Ylinen
Our dear mom, grams, and great grams Maxine Anna Christensen Ylinen of Stillwater passed away surrounded by love on February 22nd at the age of 92.
Mom was born Aug 30th 1932 in St Paul to Louise and John Mauer, the youngest of 9.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 8 siblings, husbands Vern Christensen Sr and Davey Ylinen.
She is survived by her children Janelle (Don) Borden, Roxanne Olson, Vern (Lisa) Christensen Jr, and Gary (Carol) Christensen. Grandchildren Derek (Kim), Kendra, Heather, Brad, Mallory (Meredith), Shawna (Justin), Chaz, Melissa (Jeff), Maggie (Donald), Cassie, Garrett. Great grandchildren Hudson, Rylan, Adlee, Landree, Knox, Maddy, Mason, Jack, Caden, Claire, Daphne, Olivia, Camren, Clara, Paradise, Lincoln. Many nieces, nephews, and her lifelong friend Virginia.
Mom loved all sports, especially the Twins and the Vikings. She was an avid bowler for years and even bowled a 600 series. Not one to sit still for long, through the years mom enjoyed dancing, camping, walking, golf, the casino, and playing cards. Her Catholic Faith was very important to her. She was a devoted mom, grams, and great grams and will be missed.
Service will be at Presentation of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church 1725 Kennard St, Maplewood on Tuesday, March 11th. 10:00 Visitation, 11:00 Funeral Mass with a luncheon to follow.
Consider wearing something blue as that was mom's favorite color.
Private interment at Fort Snelling at a later date.
