Maxine Denmark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Milton Funeral Home, LLC - Dade City on Oct. 29, 2025.
Ms. Maxine Stewart-Denmark, affectionately known as "Maxine," was born on November 11, 1949, in Lacoochee, Florida, to the late Wilhemina Stewart and the late Sanford Morgan, Jr. After the passing of her beloved mother, Maxine's life was lovingly reshaped by her aunt and uncle, Rethel and Mack Goodman, who welcomed her as their own and nurtured her with boundless love and affection. As a child of a military family, Maxine's early years were filled with travel and new experiences. She attended schools within the Pasco County School District and continued her education in several states across the country. Her academic journey eventually led her to Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado, where she pursued higher learning with determination and grace. Maxine's professional path reflected her dedication to service and compassion. She began her career with the Pasco County School System and later joined the State of Florida's Department of Juvenile Justice, where she worked faithfully as a dietician until her retirement. Her work was more than a job-it was a calling to care for others with kindness, nourishment, and respect. A devoted member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Lacoochee, Maxine served faithfully for many years. Whether through organizing church programs, coordinating events, or lending a helping hand, she gave of herself wholeheartedly until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Maxine was a woman of many gifts-a lover of good food, vibrant fashion, and meaningful fellowship. Her kitchen was a place of joy and comfort, her fashion shows a celebration of beauty and confidence, and her presence, a steady light that brightened the lives of all who knew her. Through her love of church, community, and creativity, she left a legacy of service, elegance, and grace. On October 27, 2025 Maxine was called home to rest surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by: three children, Paula Morgan, Reggie Morgan, and Dedrin Sanders; her mother and father; her adoptive parents; and her beloved grandmother, Lily G. Stewart; 2 sisters, Naomi Pressley and Marva Johnson. All these memories will be cherished forever by all the people who knew and loved her: 7 children, Michael Goodman, Rethel Burns, Yvette Morgan, Ramona Story, Rudy Story, Rodneysha Woods and James Royal; 26 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; 8 brothers and sisters, Ronald Wayne Goodman, George Morgan, Sanford Morgan, Patricia Williams, Ralph Morgan and Roderick Morgan; 1 uncle, John Willie Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing friends.

To the Family: Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't Heal. Trust in the Lord with all thine Heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge God and He will direct your way.
An old hymn says " When your journey is completed, if to God you have been True, Fair and Bright your home in Heaven. Your enraptured soul will see. So, hold to God's unchanging Hand.

Soli Deo gloria
