Maxine E. Lingren, 93, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.
A funeral service for Maxine will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden with Pastor Max Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. A visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Maxine Evelyn Heldt daughter of Arnold and Mary (Johnson) Heldt was born on January 13, 1931, in Ogden, Iowa. She graduated from Ogden High School with the class of 1948.
On September 8, 1950, Maxine was united in marriage to Dale Eldon Lingren at the Zion Lutheran Church. To this union, five children were born: Darrell, Elaine, Deanna, Donna and Alan. The couple lived and farmed on Maxine’s childhood farm north of Ogden until moving into town in 1990. Dale passed away on April 26, 2014.
Maxine worked for the Ogden Telephone Company as an Operator. She also worked as a cook at Howe Elementary School in Ogden. Maxine loved to live and work on the farm where she and Dale raised hogs and cattle.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. Maxine was also active in Ladies Aide. She enjoyed baking, sewing and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was also preceded in death by her husband, Dale Lingren in 2014; great granddaughter, Claire Marie Kramer; daughter-in-law, Georga Lingren; and her sister, Marjorie Ann Heldt at birth.
Survivors include her five children, Darrell Lingren of Ogden, Elaine (Tom) Wilson of Ogden, Deanna (Bruce) Anderson of Boone, Donna (Ted) Meeker of Ogden, and Alan Lingren of Ogden; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
