Maxine Waldon Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 15, 2025.
With profound sorrow and abiding love, we announce that Maxine Arnella Waldon, a beloved spouse, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on September 11, 2025. She was born December 1, 1964, in Galveston, Texas, a place that remained close to her heart, reflecting her lifelong love of the coast.

Maxine was a remarkable individual whose life was characterized by her unwavering faith, resilience, dedication, and love for those around her. She was known for extending a hand to anyone in need. Maxine also enjoyed caring for her array of plants and flowers and had particular interest in her pets and other animals; nurturing both with the same tenderness she showed to her family, friends and her church congregation. Maxine's time here seemed short, but we rejoice her spirit in Heaven! Her compassion for others was a testament to her faith in Jesus and anyone that met her could see her truly caring soul.

Maxine married the love of her life, Gerald on October 29, 2011. They enjoyed a loving relationship for 14 years.

She was preceded in death by her father Mack Chapman and Mother Sarah Grace Hancock and sister, Sarah Jo.

Surviving family left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband, Gerald Waldon; her sons, Eric Waldon, Justin Waldon, James Craig, and Grant Craig and spouse, Elvira; her daughter Kelly Watson and spouse Gregory; her sisters, Shirley Goldsberry and spouse Dewayne and Rebecca Fonseca and spouse Raul; her 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her loving Brother-In-law, Terry Waldon and wife Dotti and a host of dear friends.

A memorial service will be held in honor of her memory Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM, at the First Apostolic Church Dialville - 1408 County Road 3208 Dialville, Texas 75766. Pastor Paul Gates presiding.
