Doris Tassell was born May Doris Jaeger on July 19, 1933, in Trenton, New Jersey. She entered her Heavenly rest on October 17, 2025, in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, at the age of 92.
Doris grew up in Trenton, NJ and attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, graduating with a degree in Education in 1956. She married Dr. Paul N. Tassell on August 4, 1956. They were married 46 years until his death in 2002.
Doris was a school teacher and a loving wife and mother. She served alongside her husband in the ministry, as he pastored churches in Georgia, Illinois and Iowa, and served as the National Representative of the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. She faithfully traveled with Paul and cared for him when he developed Parkinson’s Disease.
Doris loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and touched countless lives with His Truth as a Sunday school teacher and ladies event speaker. She was influential and inspirational in the lives of her three children, their spouses, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Jann Tassell of Canton, IL, daughter Jill Osborne (Nathan) of Pisgah Forest, NC, son Joseph Tassell (Deborah) of North Adams, MI, nine grandchildren, along with their spouses, and five great-grandchildren.
Doris spent her final years as a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Brevard, NC. She is remembered with love and respect by family and friends everywhere.

Her soul is with the Lord. Her body will be interred in Winter Haven, FL in a private family service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers and donations for Faith Baptist Mission, PO Box 866, Eagle Lake, FL 33839. FaithBaptistMission.org
