Maybelle R. Williams

Maybelle Ruth Williams, age 94, of Chillicothe, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026 at her home.

Maybelle was born on March 13, 1931 in Decatur, IL to Haven Louis and Lucinda Ruth (Chenoweth) Walker. She married John Henry Williams in December of 1950. He preceded her in death in 2005. Also preceding her in death are her parents; her sister, Betty Tolliday; and her brothers, Joseph, William, Donald and Haven, Jr.

Surviving are her daughters, Debora S. Williams of Tucson, AZ and Penny Denise (Douglas) Smith of Chillicothe, IL; her grandchildren, Angela Marie Krumholz, Andrew Douglas (Brittney) Smith and Kristen Denise (J.J.) Gonzales; and her great-grandchildren, Jennifer Rene Krumholz, Lisa Nichole Krumholz, John Douglas Smith and Emerson Cowell Smith. Also surviving are her sister, Alice Bray and her brother, Roy Walker, both of Decatur, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Maybelle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Mossville United Methodist Church and she enjoyed playing cards at Pearce Community Center in Chillicothe.

Services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 12pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made be to the Mossville Untied Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society, in honor of her late husband.
