Ronald E. Sheaffer, age 64, of Chillicothe, went to be with his Savior on Saturday, January 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Ron was born on October 22, 1961 in Peoria, IL to the late David L. and Edna M. (Vicary) Sheaffer. He married Kathleen A. Kilbey on July 12, 1985 in Peoria.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy; his children, Matthew, Adam, Karilyn and Kassandra; and his sister, Donna Murphy, one nephew and two nieces.

Ron was a CPA and worked for the University of Illinois College of Medicine for 20 years, retiring as their Chief Accountant. He was member of the AICPA and Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe, where he also served as treasurer for 25 years.

Ron always selflessly gave his best effort in every phase of his life, no matter the circumstances. His devotion to his family, his church, and his work was his top priority.

Services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11am at Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe with visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will follow the service at Chillicothe City Cemetery. I worked with Ron at the University. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. Ron always had a smile for me and was so pleasant to work with.

At UICOMP, he was genuinely good and generous helping others. I feel blessed to have been able to work with him. We always joked when we were at the sink/water cooler in the hall. God Bless your family.

Our deepest condolences, words just aren't enough.
Kathy and children, you all have spent countless days and nights praying, visiting and doing all you could. God's grace gave you strength, courage and love to get through all that Ron had endured for many years.
May your hearts be filled knowing you did all you could for Ron, your husband and father. May God's love protect you and provide the courage you deserve at this time.
Sending our love and know Ron is at peace in God's arms. You will be in my prayers and know you will be at peace knowing how much love you have for Ron.

With our blessings and love,
Ben & Sara Ricci, along with our family. Forever!
