Maynard Nichols Obituary
Maynard W. Nichols, a versatile man known for his hard work, ingenuity, and warm heart, passed away on March 29, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on July 13, 1939, in Denver, Colorado, Maynard was the son of Roy and Leona Nichols. He grew up in the Four Way area of Colorado, where he attended Four Way School, laying the foundation for a life marked by dedication and service.
Maynard's career was a testament to his diverse talents and tireless work ethic. He was truly a "jack of all trades," excelling in various roles throughout his lifetime. From lumberjack to carpenter, welder to machinist, Maynard mastered each skill he pursued. He worked as a union crane operator and union painter in construction, and spent 18 years as a dedicated feed mill worker. Additionally, he lent his expertise as a mechanic and found fulfillment as a farmer and rancher.
In addition to his many professional accomplishments and devotion to his family, Maynard W. Nichols found solace and joy in the great outdoors. He had a deep passion for hunting and fishing, spending countless hours in nature pursuing game and casting his line in serene waters. Whether he was nestled in the woods, rifle in hand, or out on the tranquil lakeshores with a fishing rod, Maynard found peace and fulfillment in these cherished pastimes. His love for hunting and fishing added richness to his life and created cherished memories shared with family and friends amidst the beauty of the natural world.
In 1959, Maynard embraced the joys of fatherhood with the birth of his first son, Clint, followed by the arrival of Tom in 1960, and his youngest son, Ron, in 1964. He cherished his role as a father and took great pride in raising his sons with love and wisdom.
Maynard is survived by his three sons, Clint, Tom, and Ron, who continue his legacy of hard work and integrity. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Mindy, Kate, and Michael, as well as his great-grandchild, Lynn. He is also survived by his siblings, Myles and Lyle, and his lifelong friend, Nancy Ford.
Maynard was preceded in death by his parents and his step-granddaughter, Kristian Jeske.
Maynard Nichols will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his enduring friendship, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
