Mayree Kathleen (Mahoney) Oliver, 71, born on September 8, 1953, in Madison, Indiana, to the late Edward and Annie Ellen (Stewart) Mahoney, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. She was a devoted Certified Medication Technician at Owenton Manor Nursing Facility, where her compassion and professionalism left a lasting impact on those she cared for.
Mayree was a cherished member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Perry Park, Kentucky, where she found community and fellowship. Her warm spirit and dedication to both her faith and family defined her life. Mayree had a love for cooking and canning, often sharing her passion for farm animals and family gatherings that brought joy to all.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell J. Oliver of Owenton, Kentucky, two sons, Joel B. Wilson (T.J.), of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Noel S. Wilson (Adena) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Mayree also leaves behind one sister, Peggy J. Moore of Pendleton, Kentucky, and two beloved grandchildren, Vanna and Brodi Wilson, who will miss their grandmother deeply.
Mayree was preceded in death by her parents and previous spouses, Porter R. Kelly and Junior Leon Wilson. She also mourned the loss of three sisters, Evelyn Kublitz, Rena Evans, and Nellie Opal Brown, and five brothers, Edward M. Mahoney, Jr., Jesse D. Mahoney, Robert A. Mahoney, Dean G. Mahoney, and Charles L. Mahoney.
Visitation services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home in Pleasureville, Kentucky. The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home and will be officiated by Rev. Tim Osborne and Bro. Darren Wolford. Another visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:45 PM (CT) at Bernard Funeral Home, located at 367 No. Main Street, Russell Springs, Kentucky, 42642, followed by a graveside service at Salem Cemetery in Russell Springs at 1:00 PM CT.
Mayree Kathleen (Mahoney) Oliver will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering spirit, and the love she shared with everyone around her. Her legacy lives on through her family and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey.
