Mr. Melvin Carlton Jordan, also known as Horse, Carlton, MC and Peckerwood, age 82 entered eternal rest on March 14, 2024, at 1:49 pm at his residence in Cheneyville, Louisiana.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate his life.
MC was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Jordan; mother, Gayo Jordan; and stepson, Charles Kovar.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Wanda Jordan; son, Dane Jordan; stepdaughters, Phyllis Kovar, Debbie Walker (Robert), Janice Triplett, DeeAnn Mitchell (Casey) and Christy Putnam (Max); sisters, Verna Lea McDaniel (Lannie) and Pauline Gremillion (Stewart); brother, Garry Jordan (LaVonne); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many special friends.
MC had a love for fishing, hunting, farming, and racing. Beyond his passions, MC was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and mentor. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In his final days, surrounded by the love of his family and friends, MC found peace and comfort as he embarked on his journey to eternity. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, forever remembered in the echoes of laughter, the scent of freshly turned soil, the fish caught on the lake, the roar of engines on the racetrack and a good hunt.
