Mcarthur Risper

McArthur Risper also known as "Mack" was born on April 19, 1942, in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Thomas Jones and Ella Holley. At the age of 82, McArthur peacefully transitioned from this life at Genesis in Seaford, Delaware on May 24, 2024.
McArthur attended William C. Jason High School in Georgetown, Delaware.
As a young man growing up McArthur worked alongside his mother in the fields. The long hours and hard work instilled a strong work ethic that would stay with him for the rest of his life. Some of the employers that benefitted from his labor were Allen Foods, American Originals, King Cole where he was a welder and mechanic, lastly a parts clerk at parts store until he retired. He also invented the egg peeler and a head piece for a hair salon.
McArthur accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior under the leadership of Apostle Thomas Sturgis. He was a member of Believers Faith Healing Church for 22 years.
He always helped people in the Coverdale Crossroad Community along with his family and friends working on cars or whatever he could assist with.
In addition to his parents, McArthur was preceded in death by two sisters, Cora Short and Eliza Anderson; three brothers, James Gaskins, Andrew Risper Sr. and Hayward Risper Sr.; two grandsons, Jonathan Williams and Allan Williams.
McArthur leaves to cherish his memory eight children, Colessa Davis Risper (Mark) of Harrington, DE; Paula Chavis of Baltimore, MD; Mark Smith (June) of Norfolk, Virginia; Stacey Risper (Coleasa) of Seaford, DE; Meleda Jackson of Seaford, DE; McArthur Risper Jr. of Seaford, DE; Ashley Risper (Vashad) of Seaford, DE; Denise Wells of Seaford, DE; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
