Megan McIntyre Obituary

Megan L. McIntyre, 69, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Megan was born June 15, 1956, in Chicago, to her loving parents Roger and Joan (Maas) Johnson. She graduated from Guilford High School, Class of 1974 and Illinois State University, class of 1978 where she studied Criminal Justice, Spanish, and Sociology. Megan loved working in her yard, taking her dogs on walks and enjoyed collecting stickers, completing puzzle books, and reading a good book in the tub. The Mitford series and the Alex Cross novels were among her favorites. She also enjoyed spending time watching cooking competition shows and other television shows especially mysteries like Monk and Diagnosis Murder with family. Making necklaces with charms to remind her of the people that she loved was also a passion. Megan had unconditional love for all people. She was a selfless person who took care of everyone and everything. Megan was a bundle of happiness and joy and would always find a friend everywhere she went. She was a very faithful and spiritual person. Her favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13 which reads, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." The strength and courage she always showed are a true testament to her love of this passage. When once asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, Megan replied "A mom, it's what I always wanted to be." And she truly was the best one ever.

Survived by her children, Alex Christopher McIntyre and Molly McIntyre. She is predeceased by her parents; brother, Christopher Johnson; two dogs, Smokey and Lucky; and father of her children, Kevin R. McIntyre.

A Celebration of Megan's life will be held at a later date. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family to help put up a plaque in her honor. To share a memory or condolence, please visit www.olsonfh.com
