Melanie Jo Headland

Melanie Jo Headland, 74, of Stow, Ohio, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Melanie devoted her career to helping others through her work as a Radiologic Technologist and Clinical Applications Specialist. She also served as a Sr. Diagnostic Applications Consultant and as a Contractor before retiring. Her professional life was long and rewarding, marked by dedication and care.

In her spare time, Melanie found joy in embroidery and sewing, connecting with friends on social media, shopping, watching movies, and binge-watching the latest streaming drama series. She also enjoyed reading and spending time on her computer researching new ideas, patterns, recipes and various topics. She especially loved visiting Key West and was particularly fond of The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory. Most of all, she cherished the stories, laughter, and moments shared with her daughter, grandchildren, and grandpups, as well as time spent with her extended family.

Melanie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Drillien; her father, Kenneth LeRoy Headland; and her sisters, Donna Arthur and Patricia Ryan. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Christopher Gorman, Sr.; her grandchildren, Katelyn and Christopher Gorman, Jr.; her brother, Skip Headland, and his wife, Kim Shaffer Longhitno; her sister, Linda Zverloff, and her husband, Richard Zverloff; as well as her dear friends, Michelle Parr and Laura Byers; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss her and cherish her memory.

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. The family asks that those who knew and loved Mel honor her memory in their own way.
