Melba Louise Abernathy

Melba Louise Abernathy, 83, of Cumming went to be with her Lord and her husband of 47 years, Robert Abernathy, Sr.

Survivors include her children, Robert, Jr. and Beth Abernathy of Moreland, David Abernathy of Carnesville, Melody and Vickey Roper, Julie and Alan Mathis, James Abernathy, Ricky Abernathy, all of Cumming; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister-in-law, Maryann Faircloth of Warner Robins; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Jimmy Dell of Macon. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 14, at 1:30 p.m. at Pinecrest Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Richard, Rev. Ronnie Waters and Rev. Ricky Waters officiating. Inurnment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Pine Crest Baptist Church on Saturday, January 14, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
