Melissa Ann Astello

February 24, 1984 – August 17, 2025

Melissa Ann Astello, 41, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on August 17, 2025, at Lakeland Regional Hospital. Born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, on February 24, 1984, Melissa was the beloved daughter of Annette and Joseph Pankratz. She spent her early years in Wisconsin and was raised by her father, Joseph and mother Annette.

Melissa earned a degree in medical assistance and dedicated many years to nursing - a calling she embraced with compassion and warmth. She was known not only for her skill and care but for her ability to truly connect with her patients. Many often asked for her by name and brought her small tokens of appreciation - a testament to the lasting impact she made in their lives. Most recently, she worked as a housekeeper, continuing to bring her kindness and energy to those around her.

Melissa was a vibrant spirit who brought joy to every room she entered. She had an uncanny ability to lift others up with her infectious laughter and perfectly timed jokes. If someone was hurting, Melissa was there - a shoulder to cry on, an open heart to talk to, and always ready with thoughtful advice.

She had a deep love for the little things in life: playing scary video games with her daughters, cooking unforgettable southern meals, and taking peaceful walks in nature while capturing photos and videos of animals. Her creativity and love for life will be remembered by all who knew her.

Melissa is survived by her three cherished daughters: Aaliyah Astello, Lunabelle Astello, and Coraline Astello; and her beloved granddaughter, Isabella Astello-Rodriguez. She also leaves behind her loving parents, Annette and Joseph Pankratz, and her brother, Joseph Pankratz.

Her loss leaves an unfillable space in the lives of those who loved her - family, friends, coworkers, and all whose lives she touched with her boundless empathy and light.
