Melissa Billmeyer Obituary
She is survived by her husband Kevin Lee Billmeyer; daughters Erica Danielle Billmeyer and Sydney MaKenna Billmeyer; son Matthew Allen Billmeyer; parents James Allen and Betty Anne Manning; and brother Jeff Allen Manning and his wife Dawn. She was truly loved and will be missed by all.
Melissa served 6 years in the U.S. Navy and was working with NAWCAD CAFSU as their Office Manager. In her position, she touched the lives of almost every member of the ALRE community and beyond over the last 17 years. She was the glue that held CAFSU together, serving as both a "second" mother and a confidante. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way, whether known or complete strangers.
She loved her husband and her children. Kevin was her rock and she could not wait to spend the rest of their lives in blissful retirement together. She was the most loving mother, always there for her children to listen and offer advice. She stopped whatever she was doing as soon as she heard, "Mommy, I need you". If you were to ask her today, she would say her greatest accomplishment was the raising of her children. She could never be prouder of the people they have become.
She enjoyed spending her time watching the Philadelphia Eagles win, reading her books, and watching TV in her favorite chair. She loved seeing her family together, either around the dinner table or glamping at the OBX West in her new trailer. She loved speeding around town in her car, visiting old and new places (but never on Sundays because she needed her sleep and football).
A celebration of life service will be held on January 3, 2024 at 1 PM in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St. Suffolk, VA 23434, to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and talk about the powerful woman Melissa was. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I will always remember her as a sweet woman who cared about her office mates here at COMNAVAIRLANT. She loved her kids and husband dearly. Just talked to her a week before God called her home about retiring and spending time with her husband traveling - that was her future. And how proud she is of her kids. May she look over them from above. Rest in Peace Melissa. You will be missed.
