Melissa A. "Missy" Eastman, age 43 of Darien, WI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September7, 2023. She was born in Prairie du Chien, WI on September 9, 1979, the daughter of Kenneth Eastman and Laura (Vanderbilt) Meyer. Missy grew up in Prairie du Chien where she attended Prairie Catholic Schools and Prairie du Chien High School. She was a skilled athlete who was active in track and field and gymnastics. She worked at McGregor Loudspeaker and Miniature Precision Components before moving to Darien/Delavan WI area where she lived and worked up until her passing. Missy had an infectious personality that made all that knew her smile. She had a great love for music, and you would see her dancing to all her favorite songs. She also loved animals and left behind her beloved dog and companion "Zues". Missy was a giving and selfless person. Her family is thankful and proud that she chose to be an Organ and Tissue Donor and give the gift of life to many others. She is survived by her daughter Emily Jo Eastman; parents Ken (Linda) Eastman and Laura (Lloyd) Meyer; her sister Shelley (Daniel) Tesar; grandmother Juanita Vanderbilt; great aunt Mavis Vanderbilt; grandson Wiley Whitt; nephews Logan and Kaleb Tesar; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many more extended family.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with an inurnment at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. A gathering and luncheon will be held shortly after services at the Bridgeport Fire Dept. on Vineyard Road in Prairie du Chien.
