Melissa Ann Johnson

A Taylorsville resident, Mrs. Melissa Ann Johnson, age 34, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025 at Klondike Care and Rehabilitation Center in Louisville. She was born August 5, 1990 in Shelbyville to Ricky Dale and Teresa Mae Lewis Hilbert. Melissa was a former groundskeeper at Edgewater Resort and was a member of Old Country Church. She enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved her niece, nephews, and her fur babies. She was preceded in death by her father, Ricky Dale Hilbert and her mother-in-law, Connie Sue Chandler. She is survived by her husband, Harry Johnson, her mother, Teresa Hilbert of Taylorsville, 2 sisters, Daisy (Bob) Cox, Christy (Christopher) Baize, both of Taylorsville, her paternal grandmother, Minnie Cook Curtsinger of Bloomfield, her niece, Jasmine, 2 nephews, Wyatt and Edward, 2 friends she helped raise, Shelby and Amber Adcock, her father-in-law, Eddie Johnson of Mt. Eden, her sister-in-law, Mary Jay (Jeremiah) Chandler of Taylorsville, and her brother-in-law, Leo (Kieara) Marshall of Taylorsville. Funeral services for Mrs. Melissa Ann Johnson will be 10:00 am Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Sister Debbie Peach and Bro. Nolan Walls will officiate. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-8:00 pm and Saturday after 9:00 am until time of funeral service. The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
