Melissa Ann Young

Melissa Ann Bridgewater Young, age 54, of Lebanon, KY, passed away on February 6, 2026 at Spring View Hospital.

She was born on September 6, 1971 in Lebanon to the late Floyd Bridgewater and Margaret Spalding. Melissa was a vibrant and vivacious soul, a light in the lives of all who loved her. She was honest, compassionate, and endlessly supportive - always available to listen and always lifting others up. Her laughter filled rooms and her warmth made you feel at home. She is irreplaceable.

She loved to be of service and that showed throughout her life with her career field; she was an active member of the Marion County Heartland Coalition, she worked as a Family Support Specialist for 20+ years, retiring as a Ktap Case Manager. Even after retiring you were welcomed with her beautiful smile at a local attorney's office as a receptionist. In the last few years of her life, she was a Career Advisor for the Lincoln Trail Area and serving her community. As many hats and titles, she has carried over the years being NeNe to her grandkids was her greatest honor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Floyd and Margaret.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and selflessness. She taught us to be kind, live life to the fullest and always take care of one another.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Young Jr of Lebanon, KY; one daughter, Danielle (Roger) Cochran of Lebanon, KY; two sons, Angelo Litsey Sr. of Lawrenceville, GA and Carlos (Sarah) Litsey Jr. of Louisville, KY; and one bonus daughter, Hannah Cross of Campbellsville, KY; siblings Linda (David) Litsey, George (Mary) Porter, Lee (Melinda) Bridgewater,Tina Spalding, Amanda Spalding, and James William Spalding Jr.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Paige, Byron, Alissa and Trenton Cochran of Lebanon, KY, Angelo Litsey Jr. of Lawrenceville, GA, Halle Cross of Campbellsville, KY, and Rhonix Litsey of Louisville, KY; special nieces and nephews, Ladasha Churchill, Keyana Thompson, Adonnis Redford, Amir Redford and Kailani Hickerson; also surviving are a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the United Presbyterian Church, 157 E. Main Street, Lebanon, KY 40033, officiated by Father Lawman Chibundi. Interment will follow in Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon, Ky.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service that will be held at 7:00pm.

Pallbearers are, Carlos Litsey, David Porter, Phil Taylor, Anthony Scott, Derrick Washington and Steven Young.

Honorary Pallbearers are, Twyla Adams, Kim Smalley, Julia Scott, Judy Scott, Mary Helen Scott, Fayetta Thompson, Kristen Reed, Margaret Hawkins, Aimee Sullivan and Jacqueline Shelbourne.
