It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Melody Charping, age 79, who left us peacefully on February 20, 2026. Born in Greenville, SC, Melody was the daughter of George and Virginia Murray and spent her childhood years living in various places around the world due to her father's service in the military. This unique childhood experience left her with a deep appreciation for different cultures and many stories to share. Returning to the upstate, Melody met and married the love of her life John Charping. The two were married for 41 beautiful years, building a life full of love and cherished memories.
Melody was predeceased by her parents and husband. She will always be remembered for her kindness and her unwavering love for her family and friends as well as her pets. May she rest in peace reunited with those she loved.
