With joy and gratitude, we announce that Melony Kim Hunter Phillips Ralph, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend, will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and unwavering faith. Born on October 23, 1961, in
Longview, Texas, Melony went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2025, at the age of 63.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Mobberly Baptist Church, where Melony spent many cherished years as a devoted member and teacher. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of remembrance, sharing laughter, and reminiscing about the joyful moments that filled Melony's life during a decoupage party from 5-7ish p.m. on June 20, 2025, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home.
Melony graduated from Longview High School in 1979 and married her high school sweetheart, Kent Phillips, in 1980. Together, they embraced life fully for 25 years, nurturing their five children. Melony's legacy of love continues to shine brightly through her family and friends. Kent preceded Melony in death in 2005.
As a long-time advocate for the foster care community, Melony, Kent, and family warmly opened their hearts and home to over 60 children from 1981 to 1999. She passionately spoke and trained others all over the country on foster care, making an indelible impact on many lives. In her leisure time, Melony turned her creativity into treasures on eBay and homemade children's clothing through her online shop, Whimsy Daisy. She also founded Aunt Bee's Estate Sales, where she created lasting connections with new friends. She was a gifted teacher; having taught Sunday School, Small Group Bible Fellowship, Small Group, Connect Group, and any other name for a group, for 40+ years. It was evident she loved God's Word by the way she shared it with others. Melony brought entertainment, joy, and laughter to a worldwide audience later in life with the Melony & Molly YouTube channel.
In 2008, Melony found love again when she married Bob Ralph, bringing added joy and warmth into her life. Bob and Melony became "Grandpa" and "Cookie" to grandchildren Kent, Bria, and Skye Phillips, Parker Phillips, and Hattie Horn.
Melony is survived by her father, Randle Hunter; her loving husband, Bob Ralph; her favorite child, Hunter Phillips and his fiancée, Emilee, and his son, Parker; her favorite child, Zack Phillips and his wife Kristen along with their three children, Kent, Bria, and Skye; her favorite child Molly Horn and her husband, who happened to be her favorite child, Jonathan and their child, Hattie; her favorite child, Sam Phillips; and her favorite child, Daisy Phillips. She is also survived by her sisters, Jill Tuma and husband Robbie, Wendy Matthews and husband Richard, and Lori Bethurem and husband Bill, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a community of loving friends. Melony was preceded in death by her mother, Anita Hunter.
We invite all who knew and loved Melony to join us in celebrating her remarkable life-a life filled with laughter, love, and faith. Let us honor her memory by coming together as she would have wanted, sharing in the joy she brought to each of us.
Along with floral tributes, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Mobberly Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, or Hope Road Counseling, where all of the family has landed to work through our grief.
