Melvin J. Giese, born on July 18, 1960, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, was a man of simple pleasures. His love for life was infectious, and his favorite response to any query, "It doesn't matter," embodied his approach to life, reminding us all to focus on what truly matters. Melvin was a lover of the outdoors, a passionate hunter, and an avid fisherman. He was also a music enthusiast, once a vibrant member of the "Whitewater Band", and a regular at concerts. Melvin's other passions included camping and that age-old game of skill - shooting pool. He was a familiar face at his favorite local establishments including Ida's, 4 Stools Bar, Critters Bar and the Sunrise Bar, where he loved to enjoy an ice-cold beer on a hot day.

Melvin's professional journey was as diverse as his interests. He kick-started his career at Preway Manufacturing, then moved on to Dane Manufacturing in Dane, Wisconsin. He later worked for a fiberglass manufacturer and then for Ron Kilty Concrete and Jeff Ceglelski Concrete, proving his determination as a dedicated laborer in the construction industry. However, Melvin's greatest accomplishment was not in the awards or accolades he achieved, but in the relationships, he built and the lives he touched. He was a man who held family and friends close to his heart, cherishing every moment spent with them.

Melvin is survived by his brothers, Edward and Arthur Giese; sisters, Kathy (Van) Thai, Karen (David) Frazier, Carol Meyer, Sharon Schar, and Dorothy (Kenneth) Erdman; and brothers-in-law, He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Berniece (Brahmstead) Giese; brothers, Richard, Kenneth, Leland, and Ronald Giese; sister, Diane Reinert; and brother-in-law, Arthur Schar and Gary Meyer. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital Emergency Room, 2nd Floor ICU, the Wisconsin Rapids EMT's and staff at Aspirus at Home Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Melvin.

A visitation will be held at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 9:00amCDT, followed by a funeral service at 11:00amCDT.

Burial will be at a later date at calvary Cemetery.
