Melvin L Jordan, age 75, passed away on April 29, 2025, at John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft Worth, Tx. Melvin was born on November 02, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee to Zaney Jones and Ruthie Mae Jordan.
Melvin grew up in Chicago, Illinois, He graduated from Central High School in Memphis, Tennessee in 1968.
Melvin married Beverly Rollins in 1971 in Chicago, Illinois. They were married for 15 years. Melvin thereafter married Linda Washington. Melvin was a man of God. Melvin gave his life to Christ at a young age. He rededicated his life to Islam becoming as Muslim living the remainder of his life under the Islamic faith.
Melvin was preceded in death by parents Zaney Jones and Ruthie Mae Jordan, siblings Harold and Gregory Jordan, Joyce Perteet and son Melvin Jordan.
Melvin is survived by his sons, Theodore, Harold, Gregory and daughters, Galinda and Nyote; A host of grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Home Going service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the Chapel of Emerald Hills at 12:00 pm on May 8, 2025. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at 1:00 pm on May 8, 2025. Burial will follow at Emerald Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Barbara Andus for her love and faithfulness in caring for Melvin until his demise.
