Melvin William Sudduth, 90, a devoted husband, father, and small business owner, passed away peacefully at his residence in Villa Rica, Georgia, on June 19, 2025. He was born on October 19, 1934, in Douglas Co., GA, to the late Grady Allen Sudduth and Bertie Inez Parks. Melvin lived a life filled with purpose and a profound love for his family.
Melvin was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, successfully running his own small business, where he became a familiar face in the community. He dedicated tirelessly to his work, embodying the values of hard work and integrity that he instilled in his family.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Melvin had a deep passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, hobbies that brought him solace and joy throughout his life. These cherished moments in nature were often shared with family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by those who knew him.
Melvin leaves behind his beloved wife, Frances Sudduth, with whom he shared countless years of love and companionship. He is survived by his children: Denatia Sudduth of Villa Rica, Dawn Malone of Temple, Keith Sudduth of Buchanan, and Wade (Janice) Sudduth of Villa Rica. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Each of them carries forward the values he held dear and will continue to honor his legacy.
Melvin is also preceded in death by cherished family members, including his sons-in-laws Phil Malone and Johnny Huey, his brother Virgil (Eleanor) Sudduth, his twin brother Marvin James (Forrest) Sudduth, and his sister Annie Ruth (Roy) Ward.
In remembrance of Melvin William Sudduth, a visitation will be held on June 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM, both taking place at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Villa Rica Chapel, located at 306 Westview Drive, Villa Rica, GA. The interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 1003 Pleasant Grove Church Rd, Villa Rica, GA, at 4:00 PM. Melvin's spirit will continue to live on through his family and friends, who will remember him for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
