Meredith (Dyson) Milatz, age 78, of North Stonington, CT, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late John T. Milatz.
Born on March 18, 1947, in Providence, RI, Meredith was the daughter of the late Warren T. and
Hazel (Peterson) Dyson. She grew up in Norwalk, Connecticut, and graduated with the class of 1965 from Brian McMahon High School. She went on to attend the Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she pursued her passion for interior decorating.
Meredith worked in Accounts Payable at Norden Systems in Norwalk, contributing to the nation's defense efforts for many years. After relocating to North Stonington, she devoted herself to her family and continued to serve her community as a volunteer ombudsman for the United States Navy. She also dedicated time to supporting students as a reading volunteer at Wheeler Junior High School.
Meredith will be remembered most as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She had a creative spirit and found joy in interior design, decorating, gardening, knitting, sewing, oil painting, and a wide variety of crafts.
She is survived by her two children, Richard T. Fedor, Jr. and wife Juta P. Fedor, and Tracy Lynne (Fedor) Landry and husband Walter F. Landry Jr., both of Connecticut; four grandchildren, Christopher Fedor, Elizabeth Fedor, Zachary Fedor, and Kristen Fedor; her sister, Lynne D. Akhtar of Maryland; and three nieces, Christina Akhtar, Michelle Akhtar, and Caitlin (Akhtar) Ravida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Milatz; her parents, Warren T. and Hazel (Peterson) Dyson; and her niece, Brittany D. Akhtar.
A private graveside service will be held at Pawtuxet Memorial Park in Warwick, RI.
