Graveside services for Mr. Meredith Bryant Woods, Sr 88.of Oak Grove, LA will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday March 26, 2025 at New Sight Cemetery, Brookhaven, MS under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Homes - Oak Grove, LA. A visitation will be held from noon till 2:00 PM Wednesday at New Sight Baptist Church, 2404 New Sight Dr NE, Brookhaven, MS 39601.
Mr. Meredith Bryant Woods, Sr. passed away Sunday March 23, 2025 in Oak Grove, LA. He was born in Hazlehurst, MS on February 8, 1937 to Medford Eugene Woods and Mary Ellen Goza Woods. Meredith wore a lot of different hats in his life and was known by many names like Dad, Uncle Woody, but the most special being "Pop". Pop never met a stranger, a cup of coffee, or a western movie he didn't like and was loved by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his animals. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Patricia Anne Woods and Lillian Lorraine Stanford (Wayne).
He is survived by his sons Meredith B. Woods, Jr. (Benita), David E. Woods both of Brookhaven, MS and DeLynn Woods (Tasha) of Florence, MS. Grandchildren Nicholas Woods (Dylan) of Oak Grove, LA, Daniel Woods (Krystal) of Taylorsville, MS, Austin Bills (Bailey) of Pearl, MS, Alyssa McCullough (Christian) of Madison, MS, Alannah Bills of Mendenhall, MS, David Grimmett, Jr. of Florence, MS. Great Grandchildren Serenity Gable (Wade), Cloud Gable, Scarlet Gable, and Raven Woods all of Taylorsville, MS. One brother Hiram Glynn Woods (Betsy) of Huntsville, AL. One brother in law Melvin Smith. Special niece Rebecca Ann Markcum (Darnell) and numerous nieces and nephews.
