My heartfelt condolences go out to Donna, Jimmy and the extended family. We first met Merle almost 8 years ago when we joined his neighborhood. He always smiled and had time to just sit and chat awhile with us. One particular memory is one on a super warm summer day he strolled over to his next door neighbor (who has a lovely pool) and surprised us with a visit. We immediately invited him to join us in the pool. He was hesitant about not being in a bathing suit but we managed to convince him his shorts would dry quickly. We got him into one of the largest sitting tube with a nice back rest and with a cool beverage and a small push we all were laughing and enjoying the time. He smiled and laughed and was quite content just floating and enjoying an afternoon with his neighbors. I will always remember Merle that day!
God Bless You, Merle! May you rest in heavenly peace! We will miss you here on Hawks Nest but know you are at peace!

Merle and I with his sisters shared many happy and memorable times through the early years of our lives. From spooky night walks through Sheffield cemetery, to tying flies for fishing, to archery hunting, to being family. I´m privileged to carry memories of "Buzz", his sisters and Mom and Dad in my everyday life. My best thoughts go out to those who also carry kind memories of Merle as part of their lives. I still hear his unique laugh and feel his love within me.

Me, too, Roxana. An early memory of Merle was at their house in Marienville. He warned me about getting too close to Choochoo's bed & food. Later in life, I would take Mother & Dad to Sheffield where we all gather for a good laugh.

Please accept my sincerest condolences for the passing of your beloved father. I hope you find comfort in the support of the beautiful memories you hold close to your heart. I didn´t realize your Dad had so much in common with my Father, hunting, fishing and gardening plus they both served in the military. Thinking of you and wish I could be there for you at this difficult time.
