Merlyn Maxson Obituary
Merlyn Leonard Maxson, age 78, passed away on November 8, 2023 in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Litchfield Seventh Day Adventist Church at 1:00 PM with a visitation one hour prior.
Merlyn was born to George and Alice Maxson on November 15, 1944 in Wadena, MN. He moved to Litchfield to work at Fingerhut and then got his job at Anderson Crane Machine Shop in the early 1960’s.
He married Donna Jean Jensen on September 5, 1964 at his parents’ farm. They had 3 children: Leonard (Chris) Maxson, Cynthia Greene, and Scott (Kristin) Maxson, all of Litchfield, MN.
Merlyn loved John Wayne movies and fishing. He had a great love for his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, his children, 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, brother Dale (Dianna) Maxson of Backus, MN; sister Carol (Bernie) Kading of Hackensack, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Merlyn was preceded in death by his parents, brother George Maxson, sister Anna Johanning, and his baby sister Joyce Ann.
