Mountain Valley Funeral Home - JoshuaMerry Eugenia (Bratcher) Johnson of Burleson, Texas, born May 4, 1940 peacefully passed away early morning February 14, 2026 as gracefully as she lived, with family surrounding her. Merry lived a life revolved around worshiping the Lord. She was always helping, encouraging, and inspiring others to be their best in service to the Lord.
Merry was born and raised on a rural dairy farm in what in her day was known as Tater Hill, where Martin High School now sits in Arlington. She met the love of her life, David Clifford Johnson, at Tate Springs Baptist Church and married at 16 years old. They were married for 65 years on David's passing January 22, 2022.
Merry is preceded in death by her husband, David Clifford Johnson, her mother, Laura Margaret Bratcher, her father, Sidney Eugene Bratcher, her brother Thomas Lester Bratcher, and her brother Terry Glen Bratcher.
Merry is survived by her brother Jimmy Lea Bratcher, brother Albert Dale Bratcher, her sister Sherry Lynn Gilliland and husband Robert Gilliland, her son Lawrence Eugene Johnson and wife Jill Johnson, her daughter Margaret Anne Upchurch and husband John Upchurch, her daughter Gena Dee Johnson, and her daughter Rachel Anne Johnson. Merry had 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren
Merry was greatly loved and will be missed by many. She will forever live on in our hearts.
