Mervin H. Schmidt, 95, of Mason City, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time. Interment will be held in the Rosehill Cemetery, Greene, Iowa. Memorials can be directed to the family of Mervin Schmidt.
