Merylene E. DeWalt, age 88, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Bradford Hills Nursing Home in Troy, PA. She was born on March 7, 1937 in East Canton, PA, a daughter of Meylert and Marion (Wilcox) Wright. Merylene was married to the late Harold DeWalt. She was a member of Church of the New Covenant. Merylene enjoyed being a mother and farmer's wife. While raising her family, she was always gardening, canning, and butchering. After retiring, she enjoyed crocheting lap blankets for church, embroidery, reading, and crafting.
Merylene is survived by her sons, Lloyd (Melissa) DeWalt of Kirkwood, NY, Douglas (Cheryl) DeWalt of Mainesburg, PA, Rick (Nadina) DeWalt of Mansfield, PA, Randy (Kathy) DeWalt of Mansfield, PA, Raymond (Mary) DeWalt of Mansfield, PA; two daughters, Sandra Lee (Steve) Pettitt of Troy, PA, and Wanda (William) Hart of Columbia Cross Roads, PA; twenty one grandchildren; many great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Nancy Bills; and eight brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Mainesburg Community Center, 103 Williams Rd, Mainesburg PA, with Merylene's son, Lloyd DeWalt, officiating. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
