It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Lee Ainsworth, Sr., who departed this life on September 15, 2025, at the age of 69. He was a native of Jena, La and resident of Houma, La.

A private memorial will be held at a later date by the family.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, but together for 52, Juliana Naquin Ainsworth; children, Angela Ann Ainsworth, Laura Lee Ainsworth, Michael Lee Ainsworth, Jr. and wife Sara, Nicholas Joseph Ainsworth and wife Angelle; grandchildren, Alexis Lovell, Kendell Foussell, Jaydan Michael Ainsworth, Aria Lee Verdin, Seth Autin, Travis Autin; great-grandchildren, Kyson, Rhilen, Marlee, and Stormie Foussell; sisters, Barbara Mott, Penny Naquin, Nora Naquin; brother, Sammy Ainsworth.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Ainsworth and Velma Freeman Ainsworth; brother, Darrell Ainsworth; maternal grandparents, Samuel and Ora Freeman; paternal grandparents, Vannah and Addie Ainsworth.

Michael spent his life dedicated to his family. He was a skilled welder and he took immense pride in his craft. Michael cherished his time fishing. However, it was his family that brought him the greatest joy. He loved spending time with his beloved wife, and relished the memories created with his family. Michael leaves behind a legacy of love and hard work that will not be forgotten.
