Michael Aliperti, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and proud Air Force veteran, passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2025, at the age of 73.
Born on January 27th, 1952, in Huntington, New York, Michael was a lifelong Long Islander who made his home in West Sayville, where he built a life rooted in love, humility, and quiet strength.
Michael was known for his gentle nature, steady presence, and remarkable patience-qualities that defined him as a husband, father, grandfather, friend, and colleague. He led by example, offering unwavering support without ever needing to raise his voice or seek attention. His calm demeanor and strong sense of integrity made him a grounding force in the lives of many.
He served honorably in the United States Air Force, where he developed the discipline and integrity that would guide him throughout his life. Following his service, he spent many years as a Building Maintenance Engineer-a career perfectly suited to his meticulous nature and quiet dedication. Whether solving a problem or simply keeping things running smoothly, Michael approached his work with humility and grace.
Alongside his devoted wife of 52 years, Mary Ellen Aliperti, Michael built a loving and welcoming home. Together, they raised three children: Christian Aliperti, Robert Aliperti, and Amanda Aliperti. He was a proud father and later a cherished father-in-law to Laura Aliperti, Patricia Aliperti, and Diana Edgar.
Michael's greatest joy came from his role as a grandfather to Luke Aliperti, Bailey Aliperti, and Elena Aliperti, who brought light and laughter into his later years.
He is also survived by his loving siblings: Eileen Oberle, Frank Aliperti, and Harry Aliperti, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, support, and mutual respect.
Michael had a lifelong love for all things Disney. Some of his happiest moments were spent sharing that magic with his family-whether through visits to the parks, watching classic Disney films, or simply enjoying time together. He found joy in life's small, meaningful moments.
He also found peace in music. His favorite song, "Unanswered Prayers" by Garth Brooks, reflected the deep faith and quiet wisdom he carried throughout his life.
Though he never strayed far from his Long Island roots, Michael lived a life rich in love, loyalty, and purpose. His legacy is one of kindness, humility, patience, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear.
Rest in peace, Michael.
