Maryann "Mimi" Aliperti, 78 of Douglaston, NY, passed away on May 25, 2024. Mimi was born on November 26, 1945, to the late George and Anna deGrasse in Brooklyn, NY. Mimi is survived by her husband Vincent, her three children, Vincent (Kim) Aliperti, George Aliperti, Carolyn (Marc) Cohen and her eight grandchildren, Benjamin Aliperti, Sarah Aliperti, Elizabeth Aliperti, Audrey Aliperti, Michael Cohen, Julian Aliperti, Justin Cohen, and Stephen Cohen. Mimi was predeceased by her brother, George deGrasse, sister Emily Sarno and baby brother Victor.
Mimi was a devout Catholic and her spirituality shaped the way she lived her life. One of her most rewarding acts of charity was as a Pre Cana marriage counsellor. Together with her husband, they guided countless young couples as they prepared for marriage. Mimi was also a decades-long volunteer for the Visiting Nurses Service, putting both her business and entertaining skills to work in organizing their annual Winter and Spring Luncheons. Mimi also volunteered for many years with Our Children, aiding incarcerated women with reentry to society.
Always fashionably dressed from head to toe, Mimi had a successful career as a Title Closer. She loved travel, visiting virtually every continent, though her beloved Montauk always remained her favorite. She delighted in all things Italian and spent many years studying the both the language and literature. She was a talented interior designer and seamstress and was a fabulous hostess and magnificent cook. No one ever went hungry in Mimi's kitchen. Mimi loved to play golf, tennis, and bridge with her Douglaston friends. She and her husband were formidable partners on the dance floor. Mimi will be remembered by all for her unwavering positive attitude, generous spirit, and indomitable strong will.
Her family will remember her most as a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother whose absolute favorite pastime was her family. Nothing made Mimi happier than having her all children and grandchildren together under one roof. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at THE WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., EASTCHESTER.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, 9:30 am at Holy Family Church, New Rochelle. Burial follows at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx.

My dear friend Mimi. We met when our children were all at school at Saint Anastasia in Douglaston. I knew that she was a force not to be reckoned with. Her charm, Intelligence, street-smarts, empathy and willingness to help all endeared her to many. She certainly taught me a lot. I will never forget my beautiful friend.
Rest in peace. Love Marie
