Michael Tobash Obituary

Michael Robert Tobash passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. He was 93. He was the beloved husband of Grace (Bellantoni) Tobash, who pre-deceased him in 2017. Mike leaves behind his loving and treasured family: Michelle, Judy (Mike), and Patty (Mike); six grandchildren: Kathryn (David), Samantha, Greg (Brittany), Amanda (Kevin), Ryan (Adrianna), and Alessia; and three great grandchildren: Lochlan, Collette, and Meadow. He will very much be missed by them as well as several nieces and nephews.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, PA on July 30, 1932 to Michael and Anna, Mike was the youngest of four, all of whom predeceased him.
Mike's love for flying started when he was a young boy. He was a veteran of the Korean war from 1950-1954 and a Navy Airman, receiving an Air medal. After the war he attended Embry Riddle University and received his pilot's license. He chose a career path as a private corporate pilot with United States Steel and was chief pilot for International Paper Company. Mike was an avid sportsman; in particular, he enjoyed playing golf, fly fishing, and hunting.
Mike met Grace at a church dance and married her on May 10, 1959. They spent their early married years living in Birmingham, AL and Pittsburgh, PA before returning to New York in 1965 to be closer to family. He was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in Scarsdale.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER, Thursday October 2nd 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday October 3rd at 10am at St. Pius X Church, Scarsdale. Entombment to follow at Beechwoods Cemetery, New Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association,
