He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Veronica Rupsis Balaschak; his sisters, Paulette (Paul) Borkowski and Gerri (Glenn) Tamino; and his brother, James (Margie) Martin. Michael is survived by his sisters, Bernadette (Chuck) McDowell and MaryAnn (Jim) Hetherington, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Michael leaves behind his devoted wife, Phyllis Shaffer Balaschak; his son, Shawn Balaschak (Michelle); his daughter, Danyelle Brulia (Andrew); and his cherished grandchildren: Kristen (Michael) Nordeen, Katelyn (Jonathan) Garces, Julia, Tobias, Ellianna, and Cooper. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Winnie, Eleanor, and Zoey.
Michael was a graduate of North Braddock Scott High School and Robert Morris University. He served honorably in the Marine Reserves and dedicated many years of his career to MSA, where he was known for his strong work ethic. He was passionate about running, as an avid runner, he participated in countless 5K races and marathons. Michael also cherished golf outings with his wife and friends. He found great joy in traveling, spending quality time in favorite destinations such as Florida, Mexico, and Aruba.
He will be fondly remembered for his integrity, loyalty and dedication to family. Those who have known Michael will carry his memory in their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to honor the life of Michael Balaschak at Beinhauer Family Funeral Home, located at 2828 Washington Rd, McMurray, PA 15317. A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Guests are kindly asked to arrive one hour prior to the service. Your presence and support are deeply appreciated by the family during this time.
