Michael D. Ball, age 75, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Born in Pine Knot, Kentucky, on November 7, 1949, he was the son of the late William Everett and Alyene Bryant Ball. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Dennis Paul Ball and a brother-in-law, Richard Hamm.
Surviving family include a daughter, Gena Sparks (Chris) of Cookeville, Tennessee and a son Daniel Ball of Pine Knot. Brothers are Eric Wayne Ball (Rosalie) of Pine Knot, Teddy Dale Ball (Nancy) of Stearns, David M. Ball (Karen) of Pine Knot, Ricky Allen Ball (Roseann) of Pine Knot, Tony Ball ( Gina) of Pine Knot, Frankie Ball (Sherry) of Pine Knot, and three sisters: Elvera Trammell (Kenny) of Pine Knot, Rose Mary Begley (Rick) of Campbellsville, Kentucky, and Judy Hamm of Ferguson, Kentucky.
His companion is Robbie Blankenship of Winfield, Tennessee and the mother of his children is Virginia Blevins of Stearns. There are also many nieces and nephews and friends.
Michael had worked for many years at Tecumseh Products in Somerset. He had been a truck driver and helped his brother Tony open and close graves. He served his country in the United States Army having worked at the Pentagon then served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, fishing and hunting, four-wheeling and camping.
Celebration of life services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. After cremation, his remains will be placed in the Ball Family Cemetery.
