Michael David Barnes

Michael David (Mike) Barnes, 58 years old, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, October 29, 2021. Born on January 1, 1963 in Santa Ana, CA, he is preceded in death by his mother, Francis Corinne (Cora) Knight (2007), and brother, Timothy Darrell (Timmy) Barnes (1956).Mike is survived by his father, Charles Barnes (Mary) of Santa Ana, CA, daughter, Daniele Barnes of Ukiah, CA, sisters Cindy Chunn (Brian) of Lake Forest, CA and Debbie Alexander (Jerry) of Monroe, NC, grandson Ian Hunter of Pittsburgh, CA, and nieces, nephew, and extended family.
Mike loved God, reading his Bible, and his family. He loved playing music, writing in his journal, sitting outside, and visiting with friends. He never met a stranger and would give his last dollar to anyone in need. Watching the sunrise was one of his favorite times of the day. When he was younger, he enjoyed tinkering and working on cars.
While we are saddened by Mike's passing and miss him very much, we rejoice in knowing that he was welcomed into heaven to live his eternal life. He is now rejoicing with the Lord, his mother, his brother, and those who have gone on before him. We take comfort in knowing where he is and that we will one day see him again.
Funeral services will be held graveside at El Toro Memorial Park, 25751 Trabuco Rd., Lake Forest, CA 92630, Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11:30a.m.
