Michael Eugene Boatwright was born in Ironton, MO, on July 14, 1948, to Elmer Eugene and Thelma Ruby (Lewis) Boatwright. He left this life on October 28, 2024, with his wife Nellene at his side at their home in Doniphan, MO.
Waiting to welcome him to Heaven were his parents and his daughter, Michelle Boatwright Sherman.
Remaining to help his wife keep his memory alive are his sons: L.J. Boatwright and wife Lora, Jeremiah Boatwright and significant other Tonya Kenser; stepson: Danny Bell; stepdaughter: Lysandra Bell Harmon; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; sister: Janet Rainwater and husband Harold; numerous nieces and nephews.
Michael lived on this earth for 76 years, 3 months, and 14 days. He grew up in Piedmont, MO, hunting and riding horses with his dad. A disabled veteran, he served in the United States Army form 1968 – 1970. Hew was of the Baptist faith. On January 11, 1974, he married Alice Nellene (Rees) Bell.
Michael enjoyed reading, spending time with his dogs, and cooking out on the grill. He loved being with his family, especially his great grandbabies. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Military honors will be at 11:00 am, also in the Piedmont Chapel with funeral service following. Cremation will follow services. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
