MICHAEL O. BOHNSACK
Michael Owen Bohnsack "Mike", 59, of Leavenworth, KS passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023 Family will receive friends at his visitation from 5 to 8 PM, Thursday, January 19, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. Graveside funeral services will be 9 AM, Friday, January 20, at the Leavenworth Veterans Administration National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to Charcot-Marie-Tooth Research Foundation at cmtrf.org
Mike was born on September 14, 1963 at Fort Leonardwood, MO and graduated in 1981 from Leavenworth High School in Leavenworth, KS. He then joined the US Navy, serving six years as an Electrician on board the USS Clark, after the Navy, he returned home and has worked for the FAA for the last 17 years as a Construction Specialist. Mike was a member of the Leavenworth American Legion. He enjoyed building and racing R/C cars. He was a wonderful and loving husband and father and a great jokester. He could always brighten anyone day. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Madelyn Bohnsack in 1998 and a stillborn sister, Michelle, in 1973. He is survived by his wife Candice Bohnsack of the home and one son Zachary Courtney of Wichita, KS. His father Donald Bohnsack and his wife Linda of Leavenworth, KS; one sister Donna Gentle and her husband Doug of Waynesville, MO; and one brother Jeff Bohnsack and his wife Heather of Leavenworth, KS as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other family and friends that will miss him greatly.
